Challenging the extreme of hadal zones and exploring the deep-sea world are always the dream of mankind. Along with Hadal Science and Technology research center (HAST) of Shanghai Ocean University, Rainbowfish has started its path to challenge the 11000m undersea, the extreme of hadal zones. The adventure to challenge the extreme of hadal zones will go through two phases. During the first phase, we will focus on the research and development of “Rainbowfish” 11000 meter deep manned submersible as well as its 4800-ton mother ship, “Zhang Jian”. The second phase will be a four-year long submersible sea trials up to full ocean depth. We plan to reach the depth of 11,000 meters in Mariana Trench in 2020, which will become the first time in human history to carry a scientist, an entrepreneur and a oceanaut to the extreme of hadal zones in the world. The cooperation between Rainbowfish and HAST has created a new development mode that connects scientists and entrepreneurs, utilizing national supports and private investments while establishing opened financing platform. By building a word-class movable laboratory for hadal science and technology, Rainbowfish and HAST are promoting the industrializing of hadal science and technology which covered research vessels services and deep-sea technology development services, deep-sea and high- end equipment’ manufacturing, biomedical engineering and resource developments.
